Joanna Polkowska’s main areas of practice at Patpol Legal include infringements and protection of trademarks, industrial designs, patents, additional protection rights, copyrights and combating unfair competition.
She represents clients in disputes before common courts and prepares draft agreements for the transfer and use of industrial property rights, copyright, technology and know-how. She also has significant experience in conducting application and dispute proceedings regarding obtaining and revoking industrial property rights before the Polish Patent Office, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and administrative courts.
Ms Polkowska advises Polish and global companies operating, inter alia, in the FMCG, pharmaceutical and automotive industries with regards to intellectual property law, combating unfair competition and advertising law. The area of her specialization also includes conducting arbitration proceedings regarding internet domain names in front of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of WIPO in Geneva and in the Arbitration Court for Internet domains at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications in Warsaw.
She gained her professional experience working in the intellectual property departments of renowned Polish and international law firms.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and the Member of the District Bar Council in Warsaw since 2013.
